Expansion of the fiber optic network in Eijsden-Margraten

The groundbreaking ceremony in the Dutch municipality of Eijsden-Margraten on behalf of DELTA Netwerk: On Monday, October 31, project manager Steef van Hunsel from DELTA Netwerk started together with Kristijan Kocevski from mih GmbH and Pascal Knooren, project manager for the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten the expansion of the fiber optic network in Eijsden-Margraten.

Estimated schedule
”We have just started measuring all the houses in Margraten and Cadier en Keer to see together with the residents where the fiber optic connection can be placed in the house. The civil engineering work in Margraten has started and will continue until the middle of next year. If everything goes according to plan, the first residents with a fiber optic connection will be able to go online in the course of 2023,“ explains Kristijan Kocevski, project manager at mih GmbH, the project schedule.

Latest technology and equipment
The fiber optic network will improve the quality of life for the residents of the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten: ”Fast internet is becoming increasingly important. Working from home and new developments require more capacity and speed of internet connection. Because we use the latest technology and equipment, it is possible to provide internet speeds of up to 8 Gbit/s (8,000 Mbit/s),“ explains van Hunsel.
